Lethocerus americanus, better known as the giant water bug. How giant you ask? Well, it is big enough to be a predator!! It eats small fish, tadpoles, snails and what not. Anyway, imagine how nasty it is to see one that is about half the length of a dollar bill!! NOW picture how nasty it is to put one in your mouth… no wait, just look at the picture.
Tasting notes:
Nasty. Bitter and tasted like some nasty poison. (please check back in a few days to make sure I am still alive)
Gross Factor:
Extremely sickening, disgusting, and foul. I was only able to take one bite.
